The views from my room were breathtaking, overlooking Funchal and the sea. Enjoying breakfast in the garden was a lovely start to each day. The selection offered was impressive with fresh juices, pastries, and various cooked options. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kept the atmosphere relaxed. My room had a spacious layout with a kitchenette and a comfortable bed. Although the uphill walk from the city center felt challenging after long days out, it offered a peaceful retreat. The indoor parking was convenient but a bit tight, especially when the hotel was full. Air conditioning in the room could use some soundproofing as it was a little noisy at times. These drawbacks didn't overshadow the wonderful experience overall.

The steep and winding road to the hotel is a hassle!!! The lack of coffee/tea making facilities included in the room is quite disappointing!!! Good luck finding the art gallery advertised, as it feels more like a missed opportunity than a unique feature!!!

Just a prime choice for a weekend respite in Funchal with exceptional value. The shower had fantastic pressure, making it refreshing after a long day exploring. Be sure to visit the local supermarket for cheaper snacks and drinks.

i had a wonderful 11 nights at arts in hotel Conde Carvalhal. it has a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. the breakfast ladies were charming, and it felt great to enjoy cake each morning. the location is perfect, just a short walk to everything worth seeing.

Had a great time with my friends at this place! We loved the beautiful gardens and really enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with lots of options. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s a short walk to Old Town where we explored the vibrant local culture and also visited the beautiful botanical gardens nearby.
